Database Programmer
The Database Programmer would be responsible for providing database design and programming, and multi-tiered web application development, as well as technical vision/direction independently and in collaboration with the PCD Group team.
The Database Programmer MUST have the following Experience & Skills:
- 3+ years professional experience as a Database Developer, DBA or Web Programmer
- Experience with database-driven web applications and related technologies
- Strong Database Design, Programming and SQL skills
- Strong knowledge of Perl, HTML, JavaScript, CSS; Familiarity with shell scripting
- Intermediate knowledge of Oracle 9 & 10
- Familiarity with Oracle utilities such as SQL*Loader, Import and Export
- Understanding of fundamental database design concepts (Normalization, Referential Integrity etc)
- Familiarity with database objects such as Stored Procedures and Triggers
- Strong with data optimization techniques
- Strong in data transformation (DTS) and/or Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) processes
- Strong understanding of object oriented programming principles
- Familiarity with other scripting languages is a plus (ASP, Cold Fusion, etc)
- Ability to operate in diverse environments (Solaris, Linux and Windows)
- Experience with version control systems (CVS, SVN etc)
The ideal candidate for this position would have experience working in an agency type environment, enjoy working on a variety of projects simultaneously, be able to work in an open office environment, and most importantly, be interested in utilizing both database and programming skills with a strong desire to increase knowledge in both areas. This is a unique position in that PCD Group is really looking for a hybrid type skill set with the ability to handle DBA like tasks, but also someone interested in web programming.
Candidate must be a self-motivated problem solver who works well in a team environment and has excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Web Programmer / Application Developer
The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications and experience:
- 3+ years professional experience as Web Programmer or Application Developer
- Strong understanding of object oriented programming principles
- Strong knowledge of Perl a must
- Strong knowledge of HTML, JavaScript and CSS
- Intermediate knowledge of PHP, SQL
- Experience with database-driven web applications and related technologies (Oracle, Linux, Apache, etc.)
- Familiarity with other scripting languages is a plus (ASP, Cold Fusion, etc.)
- Must be an energetic, self-motivated problem solver who works well in team environment
- Candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
